That's everything we know about Hollow Knight Silksong so far. Hollow Knight Silksong is the sequel to the hit indie game Hollow Knight. No update has since been given on a new release date. In a Tweet, Team Cherry's Marketing Director announced that the game will no longer hit its release window of the 'first half of 2023'. After its development was first announced in February 2019, there have been very few announcements regarding the title. We'll have to wait and see just how many new bells and whistles are included this time around, but, for now, the action is looking like more Hollow Knight - which is certainly not a bad thing. Generally, if you played Hollow Knight, it seems as though you'll be right at home with the gameplay in Silksong. Boss fights look to be a big part of Silksong, with the gameplay trailer released last year having shown off a couple of the main foes we'll be taking on. A prequel allows for this to happen, and would explain why Hornet presumably left and returned to. It would allow players to take control of supporting. Team Cherry once said that Silksong would account for all of Hollow Knight’s endings, but I fail to see how that’s possible, thanks to one ending in particular. Players will play as Hornet in Hollow Knight Silksong, who is a pretty stark contrast when compared to the Knight from the first game. Hollow Knight: Silksong was originally DLC for the first game funded through a Kickstarter stretch goal. ![]()
